But until just recently, you couldn’t listen to your message before sending it. The feature was updated so you could stop recording and add more to your message, but it’s only now that you can preview it.
To do that, you need to use the hands-free recording method, which may be a feature you’ve not tried before. Usually, you’d hold down the microphone button and speak, then let go when finished.
But if you press the mic button and swipe upwards to the padlock symbol it ‘locks’ the button so you can keep recording without holding down the button.
Now, after you press the stop button (the square), you can press the triangle play button to hear what you’ve recorded. If you’re happy with it, you can then tap the send button or delete it and start again.
Here’s the process in step by step:
Tap on the chat in which you want to record a voice messagePress the microphone icon and slide your finger up over the padlock icon. This enables hands-free recording. Start speaking. Tap the red stop button when finished. Now you can tap the play button (highlighted) to listen to what you just recorded. If you’re happy, tap the send button (the paper plane icon). If not, tap the bin / trash icon to delete the recording.
