2 Ways to Post or Upload Long Video on Whatsapp Status

The reason behind the time limit for videos on WhatsApp status

Earlier, users were able to post videos with a duration from 90 seconds to 3 minutes. However, presently WhatsApp has cut short this duration to 30 seconds. Frustrating right? Well, the reason why WhatsApp cut down on the duration is to prevent people from sharing fake news and creating panic among other users. Another reason for trimming the time limit is to reduce the traffic on the server infrastructure.

Method 2: Split the Video on WhatsApp without using third-party apps

If you don’t want to use any third-party apps for splitting your video into short clips, you can use WhatsApp’s splitting feature to split the video. However, this method is ideal only for videos that are about 2-3 minutes as longer videos may be difficult to split. In the case of videos of more than 3 minutes, you can use the first method. Moreover, this method works both on iOS and Android devices as WhatsApp has a video cutting feature to limit posting long videos.

  1. Open WhatsApp on your device.

  2. Go to the STATUS section and tap on ‘My Status.’

  3. Swipe up and choose the video that you wish to trim.

  4. Now, select the first section of the video with a duration of 0 to 29. Tap on the Send icon at the bottom to upload the short clip from the video.

  5. Again go to ‘My Status,’ and select the same video from the gallery.

  6. Finally, adjust the video setting option from 30 to 59 and follow this sequence for the whole video. This way, you can post the entire video on your WhatsApp status.

So this was another way to post longer videos in WhatsApp status. However, you should prefer this method for videos below 2-3 minutes as it can be a bit tricky for videos above 3 minutes.
