Ghostwire: Tokyo was first announced during Bethesda’s E3 2019 showcase, where the game’s then-director Ikumi Nakamura made headlines for her eccentric presentation of the game during the showcase. Later the same year, Nakamura announced that she would be departing Tango GameWorks, and later announced that she had opened her own independent studio. A year after its reveal, the game was re-revealed at Sony’s Future of Gaming presentation, where it was revealed that it would be a timed PlayStation 5 console exclusive alongside Arkane’s Deathloop. The game was originally slated for a 2021 release but was delayed to early 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the game’s development.

Now, after almost 3 years since its announcement, Ghostwire: Tokyo is finally gearing up for release next week, with previews already circulating positive reception towards Tango GameWorks’ next big game. For fans incredibly eager to jump into Tango GameWorks’ new project, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be available for some players three days early.
How to Play Ghostwire: Tokyo Early
To play Ghostwire: Tokyo three days early, fans will have to purchase the game’s deluxe edition from the PlayStation Store. This edition of the game launches at $79.99, however, PlayStation Plus subscribers can get it for a 10% discount at $71.99. This edition also includes the ‘Streetwear Outfit Pack’ and ‘Shinobi Weapon and Kunai Weapon’ DLC packs.
This edition of the game gives players three full days of early access to Ghostwire: Tokyo for $20 extra. Unfortunately, physical buyers of Ghostwire: Tokyo will not have any options to purchase the game early, even those who buy the physical deluxe edition. The game will reportedly have a file size of 19GB, which seems small; however, the game seems to have a surprisingly expansive recreation of Tokyo’s map, similar to those found in games such as Yakuza.
Ghostwire: Tokyo will release on PC and PlayStation 5 on March 25, 2022. Deluxe Edition owners can play the game from March 22, 2022.
