Among other nifty features, you can pin conversations at the top of Google Messages for easier access, like on iMessage. Want to know how to pin conversations in Google Messages? This article will fill you in.

How to Pin a Conversation in Google Messages

Pinning a conversation on top of others in Google Messages doesn’t take time. All you need is the latest version of the Google Messages app on your device. If you face any difficulties updating Google Messages, check out how to find your way around the Google Play Store’s UI.

Pinning messages can help you always be up to speed with new updates from family or friends that you keep in touch with daily.

Follow these steps to pin a conversation in Google Messages:

Open Google Messages. Find a conversation you want to pin to the top of the app. Tap and hold the conversation to reveal the top menu bar. Select the Pin icon at the top.

You can only select a single conversation to pin at a time. To pin more than one conversation, repeat the steps above. This is a strikingly similar process to pinning conversations in WhatsApp, Facebook’s instant messaging app.

What Happens When You Pin a Chat in Messages?

Google Messages will immediately display the chat at the top of other chats. A pinned chat has an adjacent pin icon for easier identification from other conversations. By default, Google Messages will pin the conversation with the latest message at the top of other pins.

Since Google Messages only supports a maximum of three pinned chats, you should use the feature sparingly.

To unpin a message, tap the message to reveal the top menu bar and select the unpin icon.

Use Google Messages Like a Pro

Google Messages may appear like an old bland messaging app, but there’s more to it than you can imagine. Besides the ability to pin conversations, you can do so much more.

You can star messages, and with RCS, you get iMessage-like functionality, including sending messages via Wi-Fi, sharing large files, checking read receipts, and more. As long as your device has RCS support, it would be best if you embraced it.
